What this data can and cannot tell you. Worth reading if a contracting decision depends on it.
Not a government website
This site is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the General Services Administration, the Defense Logistics Agency, SAM.gov, or any other United States government agency. The authoritative record is always SAM.gov.
How current the data is
Records come from the SAM.gov public Entity Registration file extract, which is published monthly. This site is refreshed against each new release and currently holds the extract dated . The extract date is shown on every result so you can judge for yourself.
This means a record can be up to a month behind SAM.gov. A registration that lapsed, was renewed, or was newly debarred since the last extract will not yet be reflected here. If a decision depends on the current status of an entity, verify it directly at SAM.gov.
Exclusions and debarment
Every record shows the federal exclusions flag from the extract, and a prominent warning where an entity is flagged. This is a genuinely useful check, and it is the main reason not to rely on old downloaded CAGE lists — a list extracted years ago cannot show a debarment that happened afterwards.
It is still not a substitute for a formal exclusions check. The absence of a flag here is not confirmation that an entity is eligible. Before awarding or subcontracting, check the exclusions record at SAM.gov directly.
Completeness
- Not every registration carries a CAGE code. Grants-only and pre-CAGE registrations have none and are findable by company name only.
- Entities that have set a no-public-display flag are excluded entirely and will not appear.
- The extract contains occasional data quality issues originating at the source, including a small number of company names with encoding damage. Where these can be repaired reliably they are; where they cannot, the record is shown as published.
Decoded meanings
Explanations of coded fields are published only where they can be verified against an official source. Entity structure and registration purpose codes come from SAM.gov’s own data dictionary. Where no authoritative published table could be found — the DLA status and type codes — this site does not reproduce one. See the note on code tables.
